Event Details : 25th Annual Michigan Motorcycle Show
The Bike Show
The Michigan Motorcycle Show has once again partnered with the International Master Bike Builders Association (IMBBA) to judge the 25th annual Michigan Motorcycle Show. The IMBBA is the only judging agency that trains and certifies its judges, bringing a standard of bike show classification and judging that ensures a record of results.
In addition to a higher standard of consistent judging, the affiliation with the IMBBA brings additional benefits to the Michigan Motorcycle Show; the motorcycle judged Best in Show at the 2013 Michigan Motorcycle Show will receive an expense paid trip, inlcuding bike shipment and hotel, to participate in the August 2013 IMBBA International Cup in Sturgis, SD.
Participants will compete in 12 seperate classes (Click Here to review bike show classes) as well as Best in Show. Winners in each category will receive trophies, prizes, as well as recognition in various regional and national motorcycle magazines. Second and third place finishers will also receive trophies.
The winners of the Vintage and Vintage Custom bike classes will receive the 2013 Hagerty Trophy as well as a year of Hagerty's High Octane roadside assstance program. The plan covers an unlimited number of service requests, including fuel service and battery jumps.
Michigan State Brush-Off Competition
Brought to you by our friends at The Ultimate Brush-Off, professional and ametuer air brush artists will compete over the two-day event in an ultimate air brush competition. Artists will create their masterpieces during the event, and works will be judges by an accomplished and expert panel of air brushing master artists. Meet one of our judges, Pat Downy, PSI instructor.
Sponsored by Power Sport Institute and brought to you by our friends at the UltimateBrushOff, the first annual custom paint competition is the first of its kind. This will be a judged competition with point categories including craftsmanship, originality, use of time and composition. We have enlisted a panel of judges featuring Pat Downey, one of the judges on the show The UltimateBrushOff. In addition to the judged portion of the contest, we will have a Peoples Choice award where all Michigan Motorcycle Show attendees will have a vote!
Requirements for entry to this competition are as follows: Artists must supply their own equipment (airbrushes, pinstripe brushes, stencils, masking materials, paints necessary to complete your artwork, secondary lighting if desired, dryers or heat guns, etc…) The Michigan Motorcycle Show will provide space for each artist (10x10 space), universal air supply (artists supply own air regulator if wanted), a table and chair for each artist, electrical outlets and if the artist wishes a 24”x36” aluminum panel to do your artwork. Each artist may bring their own substrate to be painted (m/c parts, helmets, textile, etc…) but must then supply whatever stands or easels that would be require. ONLY waterborne paints will be allowed. No exceptions!!!!! Artists will also be required to sign a release, allowing the Michigan Motorcycle Show to use their artwork in future promotional materials. Each artist retains ownership of their image.
Painting requirements: All artists will have from 12pm to 7pm Saturday the 19th and from 11am to 2pm Sunday to complete their artwork. Final judging will begin promptly at 2pm Sunday. While we encourage artists to prepare sketches, any artists that have began the painting process before the contest opens at 12pm will be disqualified immediately. There are 10 hours available to create the artwork and we strongly encourage each artist to design a piece that will utilize all of the time allowed. Remember, use of time is a judging criteria! This being a live competition will allow you the artist to show off your skills to all who attend the show.
Promptly at 11:15 on Saturday, there will be an artist meeting at the show where we will go over the competition requirements as well as answer any questions that you may have. Painting will begin at 12pm Saturday.
Each artist will receive two weekend passes. Professional artists wishing to advertise their services at the event will receive a 25% discount on booth space ($150 for a 10’x10’ exhibit space.)
